USFITools provides aviation calculators, a METAR and TAF decoder, an airport code lookup, a dispatcher practice test and aviation guides for education, training and cross-checking. Results are generated from the values you enter, published formulas and, for weather and airport data, external data sources.

Not for operational use

USFITools is not an approved flight-planning, performance, weight-and-balance, dispatch or weather-briefing tool. Do not use it as the sole source for flight planning, dispatch, navigation or any safety-critical decision. Use your aircraft flight manual or POH, your operator's approved procedures and software, official weather briefings and NOTAMs, and the regulations of the aviation authority that applies to your flight.

Weather and airport data

METAR and TAF reports are retrieved from AviationWeather.gov when you search and are shown with their observation or issue time. Weather can change quickly, reports can be delayed or missing, and decoding is a plain-English aid that may not cover every remark or national practice. Airport names and codes come from the OurAirports open dataset and may contain errors or out-of-date entries.

Calculations and examples

Calculators use simplified models and standard-atmosphere assumptions. They do not account for every aircraft-specific factor, and rounding or input errors can change results. Worked examples in the guides are for learning and do not represent any specific aircraft or operator.

Regulations and exam material

Guides that describe rules name the jurisdiction they refer to, such as the FAA, EASA, UK CAA, Transport Canada or CASA. Rules change and have exceptions; always check the current official publication. The dispatcher practice test is a study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA.

Accuracy and availability

We work to keep the tools and guides accurate and test them against published references, but we do not guarantee that every result, conversion, data feed or page will always be complete, current or error-free. Please report suspected errors through the contact page so they can be checked and corrected.
